Another fantastic L. Oppenheimer mosaic restored. These mosaics are skilfully executed and with most well over 100 years old are generally very hardwearing and a joy to work on. Fortunately, we have extensive stocks of salvaged and new hand-cropped tesserae and can accurately replicate missing and damaged sections, illustrated below.
We initially surveyed and quoted for this project back in 2011 and were instructed in 2025, with the project completed end of July 2025. The scope of work included the thorough cleaning, consolidation, reinstatement of missing sections, individual spot repairs and finishing treatment to the Chancel, Lady and St Joseph Chapels totalling approximately 90m2.
A credit to our Team who carried out the repairs in-situ, no easy task, but a fantastic finished result.
We have carried out a small number of projects in Ireland over the years and hope to be able to return in the near future, especially Dublin, a great City.
